Colorful and pretty. And the housemade army of liquid heat were 
. Wished the cabbage didn’t overpower the deep-fried avocado. And asking for and getting limes (a no-brainer) was as hard as finding the lime emoji.

#TacoTuesday blast from the past last summer in Phoenix. Pre-@U2 #JoshuaTree concert prep work at @chicomalophx. It was across the street from where we were staying downtown so we went for the proximity option and we were borderline hangry. Chico Malo’s hipster vibe was cool. Service was not great (had to ask and wait for limes for a long time). Tacos were fine. Chile verde was ok, pickled cabbage seemed to overpower the crispy fried avocado. We were digging the handmade tortillas and the variety of killer house-made salsas (even though they were a bit watery). But realizing we still hadn’t found what we were looking for, @theflav and I opted in for continuing the search which took us to the epic mesquite-grilled taco GEM of @tacoschiwas.
