Whatever side of the border fence you’re on (literally or figuratively), the answer may just begin with tacos. As crazy as it sounds, world peace could very well start at a taquería where we can all sit down with our different perspectives, put down our weapons, eat with our hands, pass the limes, lose our minds over the deliciousness of the taco and start to see each other as human beings with the same needs and dreams. A few weeks ago, kicked off the morning a block away from the US/Mexican border in Mexicali with these breakfast tacos from Los Guisos de Doña Tere. Handmade corn tortillas. Papas con chorizo.
