Teotihuacán *Homemade*

This whole taco thing just got real! Tacos verdaderamente del campo — simply does not get better or more authentic! After a visit with our new artisan friends in the shadow of the Teotihuacan pyramids, they invited us to tacos. Come to find their abuelita cooking over an open flame in their yard (her nieto “Junior” hammed it up for the pic before stoking the fire). That’s right…a wickedly amazing mix of carne asada, suadero, chorizo, piña, fresh onions, chiles and nopales (from their garden)! And those blue corn tortillas, yep, they made them after drying the corn kernels and grinding them into cornflour. Are you joking me? Enough to feed an army, we joined the whole family, dove in and ate with #recklessabandon.
