Pork belly in manchamanteles mole with green “nopales” tortillas. I just love a good DIY taco situation… especially with some chiles toreados. 
and this Aztec-cave-turned-restaurant at the #Teotihuacan pyramids @lagrutamx is the ideal place to immerse yourself in all things ancient including their pre-Hispanic menu with ant eggs, crickets and larvae tacos. Who’s in??

Panuuuuuchos! Love us some cochinita pibil. Those pickled onions, spinach/nopal and blue corn tortillas with limón were very very good. Post-climb-the-pyramid-of-the-sun cave eating at @lagrutamx with @convoi_. Prep for epic October CDMX retreat!

Classic song. Non-classic dish in an unusual place. From this…we made #bunnytacos! #LaGruta behind (and below) Teotihuacán’s #pyramidofthesun is a #cave dining experience like no other. This well-done #Aztec cave restaurant has crazy and often delicious #prehispanic dishes like this rabbit in #xoconostle (prickly pear fruit) salsa and sopes de #chapulines. Our waiter—they call him “El Grillo”—capped off the sensory experience chirping like a grasshopper when he served out dishes. #Customerexperience win! “Dude, I think there’s a bug in your food!” @trentbutternut. #JimineyCricket’s rolling in his grave. We braved the #grasshopper #sopes in this amazing #cave restaurant behind the #PyramidoftheSun! What?! One of the sharp crunchy #grasshopper legs stabbed my tongue. Hate it when that happens.
